Aaliyah Haughton made headlines in 1994, when she dropped her debut album Age Ain't Nothing but a number. The singer was barely 15 when the album became Gold. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which brought her into the limelight. In 1996, she released her second album One In A Million with Jermaine dupri and Timbaland.
